Thank you for this excellent review of the “new” Interview. I think you exactly get the point. Everything looks beautiful, but: Where’s humour and joy? Wasn’ t that what made Interview so special?
I’m a little surprised about this new style, but not surprised in a very good way. I very much liked the three issues the new team did in the last months, but this new style is seen already, at least in Europe! Just look at Jop Van Bennekom’s FANTASTIC MAN Magazine …
I’m curious about how Interview will continue …

Is this my first comment? That’s a bit remiss. Anyhoo, thanks for the ace review. It’s a shame the redesign it doesn’t sound like it’s lived up to the hype. I was hoping for a return to the heavy sans serifs Baron used earlier in the mag’s lifespan. Let’s hope the ‘elegant’ serifs are just for the ‘fashion issue’ (doubtful). I personally miss Index magazine. It seemed like a natural progression from the ‘Inter/View’ format… http://www.indexmagazine.com/
