The fact that it near-bankrupted her husband-publisher just adds to the story. It’s also often mentioned as a magazine that people wish still existed. I have a near-complete set, as well as its 1953 annual and the suitably ridiculous recent book of reprints, which feels at times like a sample box for a very expensive paper company
