Shock and beauty. The two sensations coalesced for him on several spreads of BEACH CULTURE. But that was it. Those couple of flashes ground on (and on) in art school repetition like a scratched lp – and equally outdated. Today, it’s hard to look at his stuff without pain.

I hear that there is a story behind this, and it’s all down to Carson behaving disgracefully…Again! The man is disgusting and shouldn’t be allowed to work in the industry again. He has let so many people down (two events cancelled at the last minute so far this year – one in New Zealand and one in Sweden today) and he just doesn’t care. Don’t judge the publishers of this mag just yet – Carson won’t have any more to do with it and it will deliver on it’s promises.

Rick – April Greiman is a designer (and yes, also an artist), one of the first to even use a computer for graphic design. Maybe THE first. She was doing crazy typographical experiments long before David Carson.
