look out belly, here it comes

At first, I misread the description of the 'bank in the form of a pig', and thought that it was made out of real pig, which combined in my head with the previous post about leaving messages, this great trailer for a new Steven Soderbergh film and LifeGem into some form of Neil Gaiman pastiche that I promise not to share with you. But better out than in, as my doctor always said.

Also better out than in:

Yamaha Japan is making indoor soundproof mansheds. (via Trendwatching)

Over at Honda, they're singing drivetime music.

The marvellous Chris Boot section of Foto8 is having a two-week sale. I bought this, but only because I already own this, which is some of the classic photojournalism of the 20th Century in its original printed context. It's a cracking resource for anyone who loves photography, magazines from around the world, newspaper supplements and the social context of media presentation in different cultures. Honest.

Elsewhere, Spike Jones was given free reign to break stuff by Gap NYC, and did it predictably wonderfully.

I've learnt that it takes 1,000 litres of water to make a kilo of bread, or a television set - but that's only an eighth of what you need to make a pair of jeans (scroll down to just before Water Stress).

And here's 9/11 being treated surprisingly sensitively at the time by Spider-Man (caution: flag-waving, mild schmaltz), making interesting points about superheroes' position in society and why we need them, plus showing that even the worst supervillains wouldn't go that far (not sure about that bit). (via LMG)

Whereas here's a forthcoming 9/11 treatment that puts the fear of Stone in me, and will probably last far longer than both the attacks and the Afghan War that followed. Starring Nicolas Cage as a heroic fireman.

And, given that I can't put finger to keyboard, or even brain to world without thinking about it, Workplay production shots are now available. Yes, it is going to be like this until March. No, you'll just have to put up with it.
