Not so special

Last night, I met up with a couple of really good friends who I hadn't seen for a few months. "So, what news?" says I, hiding a freshly printed flyer behind my back.
"I'm getting married!" says one.
"My boyfriend is having an operation and becoming my girlfriend!" says the other. "How about you?"
Erm... well... I'm just putting on a play... (or am I appearing in one and hadn't noticed?)
