flaming pitch

The other day, we at le cool, together with designers Feriche Black (who designed our guidebook), pitched to create a magazine. The pitch was to a newish Spanish airline with a fresh, intelligent outlook, by the name of Vueling.
We were given six days' notice about the pitch, and would have a strict time limit of 15 minutes to present our concept and ourselves.
It wasn't just for their internal board, either. Also in the room would be the CEO of Saffron, the Creative Director of SCPF, (Spain's biggest advertising agency), and the head of the airline's PR agency (not sure who they are).
A vat of coffee, a couple of very long days, more than no beer and a lot of Apple Macs later, and "a magazine about people and their cities" was born.
Our aim was to present nothing like any in-flight magazine you've ever seen. Like no magazine anywhere you've ever seen, in fact. A magazine that is uniquely le cool, for an airline that loves to surprise and inspire its passengers.
The pitch seemed to go well. I even presented some ideas in Spanish, and no-one seemed to be smirking.
We don’t know yet if we won. But what we do know is that we've created the outline of something that we really, really want to have on our coffee tables already, filled with real copy and with real readers clamouring for more.
We hope you like it too. Here's the visuals from our pitch, containing a mixture of real copy in English and Spanish, and Lorem Ipsum. All feedback welcome. Especially from representatives of the airline industry.
